On Saturday December 2nd we had an impromptu breakfast ride.  On this ride we had Norm N., Pat S, Bruce D., Twan & yours truly.  Both Bruce and Patrick rode up from Green Valley.  We had decided to take a ride to Fitz’s Cafe in Queens Valley.  We departed and headed up 77 to 79 where we drove through the Historic town of Florence in Pinal County.  It should be called Penal County with all their prisons.  They have a city jail, State Prison, Federal Prison, and the Department of Homeland Security Detention Facility.  From there we head to US 60 where we crossed over 60 and went through some one-up back desert roads to get to Fitz’s Cafe & Pit Stop.  We enjoyed a great breakfast and talked with the locals.  The waitress told us that they actually close up in April after all the snowbirds leave for the summer.  The locals all ride around in ATV’s and golf carts.  They even rent ATV’s in Queens Valley.  We then departed Fitz’s and went out the front way back to US 60.  From there we went east to Superior and 177 where we headed south through the Asarco Ray Mine in Kearny, Hayden, and then a stop in Winkelman for fuel.  Then we headed back down 77 toward home.  We passed through Dudleyville.  We all parted ways after turning on La Canada from Tangerine.  Here are a few pictures of the riders, rides, and the restaurant.

On Saturday November 11, 2017 there was the 2nd Annual Memorial Charity Ride for Nick Morelos.  This fund was established by the American Legion Oro Valley Riders Chapter 132 in Nick’s honor and is for the purpose of providing emergency assistance to Veterans in Need.  Myself and Al made this ride.  The ride started at Old Fathers on Ina.  From there we made stops at Tommys on Stone, Bashful Bandit on Speedway, Buffet Bar & Crockpot (Tucson’s oldest “dive” Bar),  and then finally the last stop was Chuy’s on Thornydale.

We even had a SURPRISE guest when we were at the Bashful Bandit.  None other than Guys Atchley happened by and took pictures of us.  Here are a few pictures from the ride.

A Garrison Flag was taken down and burned on November 3rd 2017.  It happened at Quebedeaux Mitsubishi, at 3434 E. Speedway Boulevard around 4 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3.
Workers tell Tucson News Now that the vandal/s used their own tools, cranked the flag down, put it on the ground, then used some sort of gasoline before lighting it on fire.
“It’s a slap in the face it really is,” said dealership manager, Paul Quist. The massive 25 x 40 foot flag is usually waving outside his window at work.

On Saturday November 11th members of BKAZIX  rode to Quebedeaux to show our pride in Tucson and for our flag after our monthly breakfast ride.  Those making the ride were Stan, Al, Jim Frank, yours truly, and an old friend and former member Tom B and his friend Laura.  Here are a few pictures of the ceremony, flag raising, and subsequent speech afterward.  Here are a few pictures.

On Monday October 30th we had our monthly dinner ride at the Trident Grill on Swan Rd.  We had our dinner ride on Monday because Tuesday was Halloween and we didn’t want our members to miss all those Trick or Treater’s who might come to their house’s on Tuesday.  While it was not our largest crowd we had a good time.  It was Alan’s Birthday so Patti brought a cake so we could celebrate with Alan & Susan.  Those who made dinner were:  J Gary, Stan & Patti, Bear & Robi, Jay, and of course Alan & Susan.  Here are a few pictures of the dinner and the Birthday Celebrations.
