I thought I would go toward the northwest and meet at Mr. K’s BBQ next Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 1830. It is located at 4911 N. Stone Ave., Stone and River southwest quad. (520) 408-7427. I meet friends there for lunch quite often, the food is good and reasonably priced. They have long picnic tables for dining, self serve sodas and iced tea. I have included the website so you can check out the menu and get directions if need be.

The August Dinner ride will be at the Claim Jumper, 3761 E. Broadway Blvd. at the usual time of 1830. It is at the east end of the El Con Mall and can be accessed by Dodge Blvd, from E Broadway Blvd., or E 5th St.. The website I have included allows you to look at the menu. It’s monsoon season, so if you don’t trust the weather that day, drive a four wheeled vehicle. Sorry it took so long to get this out, I had family visit from back east and when school started, two very dehydrated kittens were found in the wall near Patti’s classroom at Sunnyside HS and I have been feeding and medicating them since then.

There were a quite few members who made out monthly dinner ride to the Trident Grill. Those in attendance were Stan & Patti Thibaut, Stewart Van Kirk, Frank Brunetti, Alan Stewart and Susan Wagner, Ray & Donna Valenzuela, Jeff & Kelly Jamieson, and a new potential member with his wife whose name I don’t have at the moment. Here are a couple of pictures.
This month’s dinner will be at the Trident Grill, 2033 E Speedway Blvd., Tuesday, July 30 at 1830 (6:30 PM). They will have our place set for arrivals after 1800. Again, I like to support local businesses. The owner is a retired Navy Seal and supports local law enforcement. Though we don’t have a separate room, we always get a good turn out, because the food is reasonably priced and very good. The service is excellent. I have included their website and you can check out their menu. Hope to see you there and remember, it doesn’t matter how you get there, it matters that you come, eat well and enjoy the company.

We had twelve members for dinner tonight at El Coronado. We had one brave motorcyclist and that was Susan Wagner. We had a lot of conversation and a good time was had by all. Unfortunately Judy was not feeling well as the evening progressed and Stewart needed to take her home. We hope she is feeling better.

Our monthly dinner ride will be at the El Coronado a local family owned Mexican restaurant, in the Rita Ranch area. There are several ways you can arrive at the El Coronado Family Restaurant. You can head east on E Valencia Rd from S Kolb Rd. As you approach the traffic light at Nexus, there is a little plaza is on the right and the restaurant is at the west end of the plaza. You can exit I-10 at Rita Rd and follow it to Nexus. Make a left onto Nexus and the plaza where the restaurant is located is on the left. You can drive through the plaza, or go to the light at E Valencia Rd, turn left, then a short distance turn left into the plaza. If you come north on S Houghton Rd from I-10, or Vail, you can turn left onto E Valencia Rd. If you come south on S Houghton Rd, you can turn right onto E Valencia Rd. When you approach the traffic light at Nexus, travel just passed the light and make a left into the plaza. I gave these directions, because they have a website, but no map at the writing of this email.
It will be the start of the Monsoon Season, so it doesn’t matter what you arrive in, or on, we would just like to see you at dinner.
Well we had our monthly dinner ride at the Native New Yorker on Speedway & Country Club. We had a really good turnout with fifteen members, family and friends making the ride. Those who were up for the ride were: John & Garnetta Falzone and their son John, Steve Matthews, Dave Lehman, Frank & Kate Brunetti, Ray & Donna Valenzuela, Susan Wagner, Stan & Patti Thibaut, Bev, myself, and last but not least our newest member Lee Thomet and his fiance Pam. There was a lot of good conversation and really good food. It is a nice place if you ever want to stop by for dinner. Here are a few pictures of the evening.
Our May dinner ride will be @ the Native New Yorker on the corner of Speedway & Country Club. It is in the old location of Chuy’s. Click on the link for a menu, directions, and phone number. Meeting time is 6:30 pm.
What a great turnout we had at Thunder Canyon Brewery this month. We had a total of 23 members, family, and friends attend. We had riders come from Tombstone, Green Valley Sahuarita, Vail, and of course Tucson. Those who made the dinner ride were Frank & Kate Brunetti, who brought along a prospective member Lee Thomet, Jeff Jamieson, long time missed Bill (Rev) & Antje Calkins, Stewart & Judy Van Kirk, Will Harris, Stan & Patti Thibaut, Jim & Barb Kneup, Steve & Julie Kelly, Ernie & Priscilla Wolf, Mike Martin, Rich Fancher, Alan Stewart & Susan Wagner, long time missed Mark Maisto, and yours truly.
Our president Stan is mending well as can be expected. As things progress and he begins to heal he will be up and riding in no time.
