On Saturday December 21st we had our Annual Christmas gathering at Bill (Rev) and his lovely wife Antje’s house. Those who made the festivities were: Stan & Patti T., Allen & Susan W., Bear & Robi C., Terry A., of course Rev & Antje, and finally yours truly. After sampling a lot of goodies brought by various members of BKAZIX we went for the “Gift” Exchange. Well as you can see by the photos below a good time was had by all.
On Saturday December 15th we had our Annual Christmas Party. Once again the Rev and his wife Antje graciously opened their home once again to host our Party. This year we had an awesome turnout, 19 members and family were able to attend our dinner. Those in attendance were; Frank & Kate B., Stan & Patti T., Robi & Bear C., Alan & Susan S., Bob W. from OR II & Debi K., John J. & Patti H., Ken & Mary M., Terry A., Gary A., the Rev & his wife Antje, and of course yours truly. Everyone arrive and we had appetizers before sitting down to a lovely dinner where many of the guests brought side dishes. We had a traditional Ham and yours truly deep fried a Turkey. Unfortunately I didn’t get the Turkey in the fryer early enough so the turkey was more a dessert. However it was done & juicy.
After dinner we all sat down for the “White Elephant” gift exchange. There were some traditional gifts and some on the bizarre side as well. We’ve all seen the gift that say “batteries not included,” well someone boxed a gift of “batteries” and enclosed it with “Gift Not Included.” However it was all in fun and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Below are pictures from the nights festivities;
On Saturday December 9th we had our annual Christmas party at the home of Bill & Antje. We had snacks, Hors d’oeuvres, and desserts along with a White Elephant gift exchange. Those lucky individuals who graced Bill & Antje’s home were Stan & Patti, Alan & Susan, Ken & Mary, and yours truly. Here are a few pictures of the Festivities.

Well our 2012 Christmas Party is now history. Here is a little note from Stan and a few pictures. Those who made the party were: Stan & Patti Thibaut, Twan & Fonda Van der Sanden, Ray & Donna Valenzuela, Bill (Rev) & Antje Calkins, Jeff & Kelly Jamieson, Will & Gisele Harris, and of course Alan Stewart & Susan Wagner.
After some very good food, dessert and conversation, we then had the usual gift exchange. We all got our numbers and had a good time while the gifts were picked out. There were a few folks that liked what someone else got, so there were a few take a ways. Even though the Rev ended up with the tea set that Patti and I brought as one of our gifts, he decided that one of their granddaughters would really like it. It was a very nice evening and we all appreciated Susan and Alan opening their home to us again. We all wished each other Merry Christmas and went on our ways.
The Blue Knights AZ IX Chapter will have their annual Christmas Party at Alan Stewart & Susan Wagner’s home this year. The party will be on Saturday December 1, 2012. More details to follow.
Well we had our 2011 Christmas Dinner on Saturday December 3rd. This was a Pot Luck at Alan Stewart & Susan Wagner’s house. This was the third time they have had us in their home.
Those who made the festivities were: Ray & Donna Valenzuela, Jeff & Kelly Jamieson, Rich & Deb Fancher, Bill & Antje Calkins, Will & Karla Hanson, Bill & Jackie Daily, Stan & Patti Thibaut, Norm Hubbard, Will & Gisele Harris, myself & Bev, and of course Alan & Susan. Bill & Jackie Daily traveled all the way from Strawberry, AZ.
The gift exchange was a hoot. If you have never done one of these it is really fun. Sometimes called a Chinese gift exchange it is simple. Everyone gets a number based on the number of gifts and guests. The person with number 1 starts. After number 1 goes then number 2. However number 2 can steal number 1’s gift or pick an unknown. Then number 3 goes. Number 3 can pick a wrapped gift or steal number 1 or number 2’s gift. This goes on and on. The only stipulation is that a gift can only be stolen twice. If a gift is stolen then the person who had their gift stolen can steal someone else’s or pick a new unwrapped gift. There was a gingerbread house, lottery tickets, Elvis Presley coasters, bar-b-que utensils, farting Santa, stuffed toys, light toilet seat (you have to see to believe) and much, much more.
I started the turkey around 5:00 pm. Many who came had never had a deep fried turkey before. You can see the pictures from when I put it in and after taking it out. Because there were so many pictures taken during the party I’ve broken down the photos into four separate albums.
